How Sevil’s Photography Studio Generated $7,200 in Revenue with Just $1,010 in Ad Spend

Learn how we used Google Ads to drive high-quality Leads in Just 6 Weeks

The Problem

Sevil’s Photography Studio, located in Ottawa, specializes in maternity, family, and newborn photoshoots.

Sevil’s goal was to increase bookings for her photography sessions while also investing in long-term SEO efforts. She wanted to generate immediate leads through PPC ads, knowing that once her SEO efforts kicked in, she could reduce PPC spending.

Meet Sevil Topbas, the talented photographer specializing in maternity, family, and newborn sessions in Ottawa.

Sevil's issues were:

The studio was not appearing on Google for services like maternity, family, and newborn photography in Ottawa.
The service pages were too short, making it hard for visitors to browse through all of the studio’s photos.
Without proper conversion tracking via Google Tag Manager, the studio was unable to measure how many bookings were from their website.
They previously tried running Google Ads on their own, spending $803 and generating only 17 phone calls. Assuming a 50% close rate and an average order value of $400, this led to an estimated revenue of $3,400 and a ROAS of 4.23x.

Our Solution

1. Website Improvements

We created a dedicated landing page for each service, such as maternity, family, and newborn photography. Our team added more descriptive copy, and showcased specific photos from Sevil’s portfolio related to each service.
This allowed potential clients to see exactly what they could expect for the type of session they were interested in.
Improved navigation by adding clear links to the gallery, services, and contact page.

Revamped landing page: Now featuring a clear contact button, engaging copywriting in the intro, and an extended gallery showcasing Sevil's stunning portfolio.

2. Conversion Tracking Setup

We implemented Google Tag Manager to track conversions, giving us clear data on how many leads and bookings were being generated from the ads.

Google Tag Manager setup: Tracking conversions on Sevil's website to measure the success of Sevil’s Google Ads campaigns.

3. Google Ads Campaign Setup

The next step was to create content that was both engaging and search engine friendly.

Search Campaign: We launched a highly targeted search campaign focusing on keywords like "maternity photography Ottawa" and "newborn photography Ottawa."

The Search Campaign Ad our team created to target ‘Family Photographer Ottawa’

Performance Max Campaign: We used Performance Max to target people in Ottawa across multiple platforms such as Google Maps, YouTube, and Gmail.

Performance Max ad for ‘Family Photographer Ottawa’, targeting users across Google Maps, YouTube, and more.

4. Google Ad Optimization

To ensure Sevil’s ads performed effectively and reached the right audience, we implemented our process:

Ensure all images were compliant, especially for the maternity ads (since maternity photos often show a lot of skin, which is against Google’s guidelines for ads)
Used ad extensions like call buttons for easy contact, location targeting, site links to service and pricing pages.
Continuously optimized the headlines and ad copy based on performance data.
Any ad set that wasn’t performing well was turned off to put more emphasis on the successful ads.
